The High Virality Content Method We Use For List Building

This post on Rugby Bricks Instagram generated 2666 emails.

We didn’t have AI when we did this, so I’ve added this to the process to simplify it - here it is:

1. Find the top-performing content on Meta.ai for the vertical you are targeting - here is the prompt we used for Rugby Bricks: “Find the best reels in rugby and #rugby in the last 3 months”

2. Look at the thumbnails (this is the first image that people see when visiting a page) and look for any trends - typically, attractive people or something outrageous work

This is what we used for our post, and we added a subtitle to clarify for the audience what they will get when they watch this

3. From here, watch the first 0.5 to 3 seconds of the reels shared to find what we call the hook, again look for trends to see what is working for your vertical

4. The rest of the IG post should reiterate what is mentioned in the hook and use your expertise that makes them want to comment

At our agency, K&J, we use this same content process to create ads for our clients, and it works across all verticals and industries.

I created this 4-minute video for another SMB owner explaining the above.

Watch me at 1.25 - 1.5 x speed

Remember, people are inundated with content and now have the attention spans of goldfish - the more attractive the first three seconds are, the more likely they’ll stick around.

Next week, I’ll share the back-end process for capturing the emails and the software needed.

P.S. If you like the explainer videos, I’ll add them to all emails going forward but please reply and let me know.

Copy That Works

Harry Dry is this generations Don Draper.

He just did a 76 minute pod sharing everything he knows.

This is the framework he uses to write every ad.

3 questions.

  • Can I visualise it?

  • Is it falsifiable?

  • Am I the only one who can say it?

Visualise = Point to it. The graph of gold going up and to the right. The 6'5 wall-street broker.

Falsifiable = You can say its true or false. The sky is green = false. Leek soup is the best… depends whose saying it.

Be the only one who can say it = Never write an add a competitor can sign. Worn by supermodels in London and Dads in Ohio.
